Virginia Bell

The burlesque era saw many memorable stars during its heyday in the 1950's: Blaze Starr, Tempest Storm, Jennie Lee, Lili St. Cyr. . .but in terms of pure natural voluptuousness and boob-power, not to mention irresistible charm, none of them quite stacked up to Virginia Bell the lady who, in our humble opinion, was THE goddess of burlesque and beyond. Much of what is known about Virginia is actually speculation. Where she was from, what happened to her and where she eventually disappeared to are all still mysteries. But one thing about Virginia cannot be denied: her stunning figure, monstrous breasts, cute smile and inexorable dimples made her a most compelling specimen of femininity.

Virginia was born in Montrose, California and carried herself in a compact, five-foot-two, 120 pound frame that boasted a pair of 48DDD breasts. While the 48 inches was likely inflated (as many models of the time were and still are today) the sheer magnitude of her bosom was not to be denied. Virginia made an impact on whomever had the pleasure of seeing her or viewing her photos. She was so large in comparison to other girls a the time that many people, including her own booking agent, thought the photos of her had been faked. They turned out to be real enough and Virginia quickly shot up to the top of the burlesque circuit, earning upwards of $1500 per week (a fantastic amount of money for a dancer in those days). She went on to appear in various men's mags of the time, most notably Fling which she pretty much single-handedly resurrected after it had run into a bit of financial trouble.

While she is mostly remembered as a nude model, Virginia also starred in movies and numerous "nudie cutie" reels. Her first happened to be one she co-wrote 1963 with her husband at the time. Entitled "Bell, Bare and Beautiful", the film was shot in three days in Miami, released a little later the following year and gained quite a cult following. She did a few other movies and later in the 1970's, grew tired of the business, perhaps believing it had grown too seedy. Virginia allegedly retired shortly thereafter and moved to Florida with her husband, after which she was not seen or heard from again. Various rumors as to her whereabouts and such have surfaced from time to time, but none of them has proved concrete. What is concrete, however, is her beauty, her charm, her boobs and her everlasting popularity, which still brings in the fans this day and age, nearly 50 years after she first appeared.
